ABOUT RUTH

MA in Musical Theatre Studies
After graduating from The Chinese University of Hong Kong with a BA in English, Ruth worked as an English teacher for two years in a Secondary school, but decided to quit and pursue her dream in education in a different way- a multidisciplinary educator who teaches not only English language, but also tells stories through singing, dancing, and acting, namely musical theatre. Besides playwriting and songwriting, she also produces children musicals for different organizations.
She has completed her master study in the United States on musical theatre education in 2020, and has started multiple projects and collaborations with different organizations, including founding her own education group, Spotlight Academy Ltd.
RUTH'S MISSION
As an artist, I wish to make musical theatre more accessible to children and young adults in Hong Kong. I wish to establish a solid curriculum that provides effective and quality education that can nurture young artists and cultivate audiences including educators and parents to appreciate the art of musical theatre.
Through musical theatre education, I wish not only to enhance students’ social, personal, and aesthetic development, but also to facilitate English language and literature education.

香港中文大學英文文學士，畢業後於中學擔任英文老師，
兩年後辭職以另一種形式延續教育夢想：
同時任教英文、音樂劇、跳舞導師，期間深受啟發，
決定報讀全球唯一一個音樂劇研究碩士課程，
遠赴美國賓州Temple University深造，並以GPA3.97的優異成績畢業。

自幼於王仁曼芭蕾舞學校接受舞蹈訓練，從小於學校和社區參與不同舞蹈、
音樂劇、戲劇和合唱團演出，持英國皇家芭蕾舞學院八級資格及

澳洲Australian Teacher of Dance爵士舞教師資格。
曾於香港演藝學院演藝進修學院修讀一年制音樂劇課程，
亦曾於美國紐約Broadway Dance Center深造。

在2020年成立Spotlight Academy，除了為不同學校及機構度身設計表演藝藝術
課程和製作演出外，亦同時兼任編舞、劇本和歌曲製作。

在2023年加入音樂劇作，現為行政總監。

中大和聲合唱團、香港兒童音樂劇團、Kids' Gallery、香港青年協會、傲楹藝術、
佛教大雄中學、亞斯理衛理小學、天主教總堂區學校、保良局謝黃沛涓幼稚園等。
